Oral Hygiene Department

Most dental offices have an employee who cleans teeth in their office. We have an Oral Hygiene Department consisting of five employees who are dedicated to you and are responsible for:

• scheduling your initial visit with our office
• performing an examination with the dentist to assess your oral condition
• formulating an individualized treatment plan to guide you to optimal dental health

During your initial visit with us, we will perform a thorough evaluation of your teeth and supporting structure that will include:

• examination for periodontal (gum) disease
• cavity detection
• oral cancer screening
• nutritional education as needed
• hygiene instruction
• x-rays as needed

We may or may not perform a dental cleaning procedure during your first visit, depending on the complexity and severity of your periodontal condition

We will take only the radiographs (dental x-rays) necessary to perform a thorough evaluation of your oral condition.

The ultimate goal of our Hygiene Department is to help you reach and maintain healthy teeth and gums. The cleaning program that we put you on will be tailored specifically for your, and we will design and schedule regular visits for you based on your needs.

We also have available special cleaning aids, mouth rinse for healthy tissues and fresh breath, and tooth whitening products that can quickly and safely give you a whiter smile.
